Fruity and aromatic

Raspberries

During the season, we have cultivated the easy-to-pick outdoor varieties "Glen Ample" and "Tulameen" for you. These raspberries not only look delicious, but also impress with their full aroma. Picking is possible daily from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Ingenhof during the season. And after picking, we invite you to relax in our field café. Relax with a delicious slice of raspberry cake and a freshly brewed coffee...

A little berry knowledge

Just like the strawberry, the raspberry is not a berry from a botanical perspective, but a nut. The name raspberry is derived from Old Norse and Anglo-Saxon and means "berry of the doe." Raspberries also belong to the rose family and are rich in vitamin C, iron and calcium, folic acid, magnesium, and potassium. In addition to the fruits, the raspberry leaves are also full of healthy ingredients: They are rich in calcium and contain many tannins. They are used as a tea for mild diarrhea, for example, or as a gargle for inflammation of the mouth and throat.

Promoting biodiversity

For years, we have relied on sustainable cultivation methods that benefit nature:

Flower strips with seed mixtures:

They not only provide a feast for insects, but are also a refuge and food source for amphibians, pheasants and hares.

Targeted pollination:

We also use bumblebees and bee colonies to pollinate our strawberry blossoms, which contributes significantly to the exceptional quality of our fruit. QS certification guarantees the highest standards in production, harvesting, and marketing.

Sustainable cultivation technology

Our cultivation techniques are constantly being improved to protect the delicate fruits and ensure sustainable cultivation:

Strawberries on straw:

The fruits remain clean, dry and protected from moisture, while the soil can retain moisture better – an important contribution to water conservation.

Homegrown straw:

We bale the required straw from our wheat fields. This combination of arable farming and strawberry cultivation ensures sustainable and efficient use of our resources.

Harvest and logistics – freshness you can taste

Botanically speaking, neither strawberries nor raspberries are berries: Strawberries are aggregate nuts, while raspberries are aggregate drupes. The actual fruits of strawberries are the small yellow seeds on their surface. With only 65 calories per 200 grams, strawberries are low in calories, provide your daily vitamin C needs, and contain folic acid, as well as important minerals such as calcium, potassium, and iron.
